MARKET CASE STUDY:  GROWTHSTAR HOTELS

Solo or independent hotel builders and owners face a broad range of challenges. And mid market developers do not have the resources to build their brand at the same time they are building their property. We can help. GrowthStar has built a structured hotel  and hospitality development platform that enables provide funding and strategic support throughout the entire lifecycle of a hotel project.

For a recent project, we worked with the owner/developer to source replacement financing for a delinquent, matured note for his unbranded hotel-condo property. This was a serious situation in which the owner faced imminent foreclosure. During the process of securing alternative financing, we realized there were unresolved issues surrounding the property, both financially and operationally, So we went to work. In under 60 days we were able to bring a top tier financial partner to the table with a palatable offer for restructuring his note (an almost impossible task given the circumstances).  In parallel we brought in multiple world class hotel flag management brands, securing an offer from a global group who committed to not only branding the property, but bringing in management and completely re-engineering the property’s failing food and beverage strategy. Finally, as we identified alternative financing, we brought in our hotel transitional asset management team who were able to reduce the estimated final buildout budget by over 50%.
